Police are hunting for two men who attacked a couple in a city street.

The 25-year-old male victim was knocked unconscious and kicked by his attackers before they started to assault the 23-year-old woman he was with in the attack at 2am on Saturday, April 17 on the edge of the Golden Triangle.

The male victim, who is white, 6ft 4in tall, and was wearing glasses, a camouflage hooded top and jeans, was walking towards the city centre along Earlham Road, close to the junction with Alexandra Road, along with a woman, who is white and was wearing a blue summer dress and blue velvet jacket.

They were approached by two men, who started to attack them and only walked off when a taxi, believed to silver and travelling towards the city centre, stopped to help.

The first offender is white, aged between 23 and 24 years old and 5ft 7in tall. He was of average build with a narrow face and cropped blondish hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a grey hooded top and jeans.

The second man is described as white/mixed race, about 23 years old and 5ft 8ins tall. He had a square jaw, was of stocky build with dark hair. Both men headed towards the city centre when the taxi stopped to help.
