Father Christmas and his real reindeer helped to usher in the festive season at the lights switch-on in Thorpe St Andrew.
The event on Saturday saw the closure of Yarmouth Road by the River Green so that families could enjoy a fun fair, hog roast and beer tent as part of the festivities.
Despite building work on the River Green and freezing temperatures, the event still proved popular, attracting hundreds.
Thorpe St Andrew town councillor and organiser Jonathan Emsell said the lights switch-on was an important community event that brought the town together in celebration.
He said: 'It was very successful night and we were pleased everybody enjoyed it.'
