Norwich Fashion Week 2013 kicks off in two weeks time so get ready to be dazzled by the new trends as fashion takes to the roof tops in Norwich, says Emma Harrowing.
A fashion shoot on the roof top of independent department store Jarrold was the order of the day as the Norwich Fashion Week team shot their promotional images for the fashion festival that kicks off on March 7. The backdrop of the city provided the idea opportunity for us to take a few pictures of our own, to showcase independent fashion in Norwich.
Glitter, sequins, metallics and mixing materials and textures are key looks for women this year, while menswear gets slightly more dapper with suits with ankle grazing trousers adorned with braces.
For the past few years the Norwich Fashion Week launch show has been all about independent retail in Norwich. For 2013 while independent boutiques play a large part in the show, they are joined by key high street brands - John Lewis who will be showcasing it's 2013 range for men and its coveted Somerset by Alice Temperley womenswear collection, and Debenhams who is bringing its Designers at Debenhams collection to the catwalk for men and women, including H! By Henry Holland. It's all turning into a must-see show if you want to keep up to speed with the new trends.
Independent retailers doing a set at the show include Ginger, Nola, Walkers, Ethika, Pure, Love Couture, The Clothes Box, Jarrold and Vanilla for the girls and Jonathan Trumbull, Hatters and Jarrold for the boys.
For the first time there is also a jewellery retailer taking to the catwalk. Aurum is doing a surprise set at the show, so prepare to be dazzled with big jewellery as the retailers show ramps up the razzle and dazzle to start your week of fashion on a high.
IonfashIon: The Retailers Show kicks off Norwich Fashion Week 2013 on Thursday March 7. The catwalk show takes place at The Forum from 7.30pm for an 8pm start. Tickets are £12 and can be purchased in The Forum Shop.
