The grieving partner of a Great Yarmouth man who is believed to have been murdered and then dumped in the River Yare has paid emotional tributes to him through the internet.

Sarah Sherfield tells Derick Tempest how much she misses him and just wants him to her hold in his arms again through a specially set-up tribute page on social networking site Facebook.

The comments came after the body of Mr Tempest, 30 and a father of three, was found by the Berney Arms on a riverbank on April 16 - nearly six months after he went missing.

And as well as fondly remembering her boyfriend of nine years, Miss Sherfield also thanks her friends and relatives for rallying round in her family's time of need.

Miss Sherfield, 28, said on Facebook: 'Im sitting here thinking of u all i want to do is 4 u to hold me in your arms all this hurts just want u back and u to make me feel safe again just cant see my life with out u.'

Another Facebook past says: 'Derick when ever I was down or in a mood with u U always got me out of it everytime with the funny things you say and do i will miss u 4ever.'

The Facebook page also features comments from friends who pay tribute to Mr Tempest and also tell Miss Sherfield how they will make donations for his funeral, which was still being arranged yesterday.

Mrs Sherfield said through Facebook that she and Derick had got many friends who were being kind enough to offer words of support and help give her boyfriend a good send off at his funeral.

Yesterday a friend of Mr Tempest, Andrew Smith a 32-year-old welder from Gorleston, told the Evening News: 'I used to have a good drink and laugh with Derick. He was just a lovely bloke who loved chatting.'

Mr Tempest went missing on October 28 last year when he was last seen walking along Yarmouth's Blackfriars Road towards Hall's Garage in nearby Camden Place.

Because of forensic evidence found in the garage police believe he came to harm there and was dumped into the River Yare after being moved there by a white van belonging to the garage on the night of October 28.

The owners of Hall's Garage, Jim Hall, 60 and Andy Ventham, 49, were found dead in the building five days after Mr Tempest's disappearance.

The Facebook page dedicated to Mr Tempest can be found by logging onto Facebook and searching for Help us find Derrick Tempest.
