A Norwich woman is raising money to support a three-month volunteering project in Nicaragua.
Katy Day, 24, is due to leave for the poverty-stricken Central American country next month, but needs to raise £800 for international development organisation Raleigh International prior to departing.
The government-funded International Citizen Service (ICS) programme will see Mrs Day work alongside Nicaraguan volunteers to help promote sustainable development whilst living with a local host family.
Mrs Day has raised £500 towards her target so far and will be running the Snetterton 10k to generate more funds.
She has also organised a fundraising pub quiz at St Andrews Brew House in Norwich at 8pm on Tuesday January 16, where there will be a raffle and a cake sale.
To sponsor Mrs Day, visit her JustGiving page or text KTDN77 £1 TO 70070.
