Death of Norwich woman described as ‘very tragic’

A coroner has described the death of a 36-year-old woman as “very tragic”.

The inquest into the death of Norwich woman Michelle Harrowven found that she died from a culmination of illnesses which resulted in a heart attack.

Area coroner Yvonne Blake said she died at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital on February 13 last year.

She had been admitted to hospital on December 22 after becoming malnourished, and experiencing severe stomach pains.

The inquest heard Miss Harrowven Freya Road, Norwich had a history of health issues, after a battle with Crohn’s disease, Addison’s disease and chronic liver disease.

She also had a history of anorexia, depression and anxiety.

While in hospital, she contracted pneumonia and was placed in a high-dependency unit. The coroner recorded a narrative conclusion and said it was “very tragic circumstances”.
