A charity which helps thousands of people every year achieve their goals through sport has won support from a Norwich shopping centre.

The Mall Norwich has selected the Community Sports Foundation (formerly Football in the Community) as its official charity of the year for 2011.

The city shopping centre aims to raise more than £25,000 on behalf of the local charity, which will go towards maintaining and increasing the quality of current projects and supporting the their school’s initiatives.

Victoria Haverson, marketing manager at The Mall Norwich, said: “In this current climate of funding cuts many charities are struggling and even more so those local charities that are not perhaps as high profile as some larger organisations. The Mall Norwich has worked closely with the Community Sports Foundation over the past few years and we’re delighted to be able to contribute to such a worthwhile local cause that helps people achieve their goals.”
