A busy Norwich road has been closed for emergency repairs to a collapsed sewer.

Kett's Hill, East Norwich, is expected to be closed until Friday, October 19.

Diversions have been put in place.

The work is being undertaken by Anglian Water.

The road has sunk after the sewer bellow it collapsed meaning the road must be closed.

The work will be to clear the sewer before rebuilding the collapsed part to make it structurally safe.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use the diversion routes in place.

The closure comes as Plumstead Road remains partially closed with traffic lights while BT carries out repairs to service boxes.

The work is expected to continue until Wednesday, October 17.

While the road is not closed motorists are warned to expect delays and to avoid the area during rush hour.
