Norwich City Council has successfully bid for a £150,000 physical activity grant.
Norwich is one of 32 projects chosen to receive the fund, which aims to promote physical activity while helping tackle other issues in the community.
The National Lottery money has been granted by Sport England in support of a collaborative project called Active Hours.
Chris Herries, cabinet members for safer, stronger neighbourhoods, said: “We want residents to feel a sense of pride in where they live and a desire to be a positive force in their neighbourhood.
“By working in partnership with other voluntary and community groups, we can make sure this grant benefits the maximum number of organisations and creates a truly lasting legacy in Norwich communities.”
The project will begin in April 2018 and will target communities in West Earlham, Lakenham, Mile Cross and Heartsease.
