Norwich pub is facing a licence review
A Norwich pub is facing a review of its licence after complaints were made about loud noise and nuisance behaviour.
People living near The Schoolhouse pub, in Earlham Road, have complained of loud music, 'rowdy' customers leaving the premises and noise from taxis and other vehicles arriving, waiting or leaving the pub.
They have also claimed that the external lighting is a 'nuisance', the A-boards outside the pub are a safety hazard and that there have been 'irresponsible' promotions such as 3.50 triple vodkas.
Norwich City Council is being urged to shorten the pub's drinking hours and the times music can be played. Members of the council's licensing sub-committee will next week consider the application to review the premise's licence.
Currently, the pub, which opened last year and is billed as 'student-friendly but open to all', can sell alcohol until midnight from Thursday to Saturday, 11pm from Monday to Wednesday and from 12pm to 10.30pm on Sundays. The same hours apply for playing recorded music, although the hours for live music are shorter.

The licensing sub-committee meeting will be held on April 12 at City Hall at 2.15pm.
Staff at the pub said they did not want to comment until after the meeting.
