A Norwich MS sufferer whose specialist tricycle was stolen is celebrating its safe return after it was discovered in a second-hand store.

Jaki Jordan appealed for help in the Evening News after her new 400 three-wheeler disappeared from outside her city home.

Now she is rejoicing after it was spotted in a shop and handed back to her - and she will be making sure it is securely kept this time.

The 40-year-old, who works for TSO, said: 'I'm very happy to have it back - and it's chained and padlocked to high heaven.

'Hopefully it's not going anywhere this time.'

The trike, which was a Christmas present from Ms Jordan's boyfriend Phillip, 65, was stolen on January 10 when it was locked up in a bike storage block outside her home in Foundry Court, Recorder Road.

Despite being a keen cyclist, Ms Jordan was forced to give up the hobby three years ago when she began suffering with multiple sclerosis.

'I had only had it on the road once because of the bad weather, but I was really looking forward to being able to cycle in,' she said.

'I was going around on public transport and walking, but with my MS I have fatigue issues with things like carrying big bags of shopping.

'The trike has a basket I can use to take them home. It's a day to day hack to make life easier and to help me keep my freedom.'

Police confirmed that a man had been charged in relation to the theft.

Norfolk police advise against locking expensive bikes in the same place regularly as this can lead to bikes being stolen to order.

They also advise cyclists to record and register the make, model and frame number of their cycle.

Ms Jordan said she plans to use www.immobilise.com to register her trike, which will be tagged with a unique radio frequency to trace it if it is ever stolen again.
