An MP is urging people living in Hellesdon to raise any noise complaints they have directly with Norwich International airport.
Both Chloe Smith, MP for Norwich North, and Shelagh Gurney, chairman of Hellesdon Parish Council, met bosses at the airport to share concerns about the noise from helicopters experienced by people living in the area.
The meeting, on Thursday, November 12, revealed the airport had only received a handful of complaints last year.
Ms Smith said: 'I have many constituents getting in touch with me about helicopter noise but the airport only gets three to four complaints each year, which is not enough to persuade the airport to take action.
'I urge residents to use the proper complaints procedure so we can ensure the airport sees the full picture and we will meet the management again in the new year to review the evidence.
'This is a long-running concern and it's high time to get it to stop.'
Norwich International airport has promised to look at further options to reduce noise if full evidence can be provided on the problem.
A spokesman from the airport, said: 'While householders living adjacent to the airport may experience increased noise levels during certain weather conditions, we can assure them that we will continue to make every effort to minimise any disruption.'
