Two friends are running the equivalent of eight marathons in a gruelling eight-day challenge to raise thousands of pounds for charity.

Kevin Revell, 48, an an IT manager at Virgin Money Giving, who lives in Earlham Road, Norwich, and Downham Market maths teacher Simon Levy, 29, have already tackled the Paris Marathon and continued running across France.

The two men are currently running through Britain, having taken a ferry from Dieppe, making their way to the capital to take part in the London Marathon on Sunday.

The 220-mile fundraising adventure will raise thousands of pounds for Kevin's chosen charity, Whizz-Kidz, who help disabled children lead more independent lives. Simon is representing the British Heart Foundation having lost grandparents to heart-related illnesses one week apart.

Kevin said: 'Running from Paris to London might not be everyone's idea of fun, but it's a fantastic way to raise both funds and awareness for charities that we feel strongly about. Crossing the finishing line of the London Marathon will be a great feeling.

'A culmination of months of training, eight days of near constant running, and no doubt all sorts of challenges on the way.'

Pam O'Brien, Events Manager at Whizz-Kidz added: 'What the guys are doing is nothing short of incredible. We're really proud of Kevin, whose sister is also one of our mobility therapists, so they're both at the frontline improving the independence of disabled young people.'

Accompanying them between marathons has been friend Cath Duhig, who has been driving alongside them ensuring they stay safe on the roads from Paris to London.
