Wannabe popstars can have a go creating their own Lady Gaga-style music video at a two-day workshop taking place next month.

The Gaga Video Star workshop has been created by a team of performance professionals in Norwich.

It will give young people aged nine to 15 the chance to be the stars of the show and find out what goes on behind the scenes on music video sets.

Jane Ashdown, from drama academy DramActive, said: 'Everything will be run like a professional shoot and the aim is to show the youngsters about the work that goes into creating a performance for the small screen.

'The idea is to show them how performance on the small screen is different to theatre performance.'

She said the young performers would be dancing to the Lady Gaga song Just Dance, and that the popstar was chosen as the inspiration for the workshop because she is so creative, inventive and flamboyant.

Throughout the two days the young people will be taught about special effects make-up and costume, learn and record a special dance routine, and see how the video is edited.

The workshop will take place on April 11 and 12 at Savoir Faire Studios, Bessemer Road, Norwich.

It is being run by DramActive, Jaclyn Agency and Savoir Faire Studios.

Mrs Ashdown said there were plans for further small screen workshops including creating scenes from Pirates of the Caribbean for younger children, and working on soap opera scripts.
