A medical student is urging people to pick up the phone and boost her chances to be crowned Miss England.Salema Junior Radford, from Costessey, went through to the semi-finals of the competition after winning the Miss Norwich title earlier this year.

A medical student is urging people to pick up the phone and boost her chances to be crowned Miss England.

Salema Junior Radford, from Costessey, went through to the semi-finals of the competition after winning the Miss Norwich title earlier this year.

The latest round of the competition will be held in two weeks and will see 60 girls compete for the 15 places in the grand final.

Members of the public have until Monday to cast their votes in a public ballot.

Miss Junior Radford, 20, who is studying at Newcastle University to become a doctor, said: 'It would be really great if people could vote for me as Miss Norwich to become Miss England. It would really mean a lot to me.'
