Spixworth Youth Football Club celebrated winning the Norfolk FA Charter Standard Club of the Year at the Norfolk FA Gala awards evening.

Along with professional linesman Darren Cann, who officiated at the 2010 World Cup in Germany, volunteers who run the club got to celebrate their success at the event at the Holiday Inn on Cromer Road in Norwich with the Football Association's director of football development Sir Trevor Brooking, pictured, and Norwich City legend Darren Huckerby.

In May this year the coaches arranged for the children to have their presentation day at Carrow Road, pictured above. Juile Mollicone, one of the team's coaches, said: 'Carrow Road was amazing. Just to see the kids' faces as they came through the tunnel and ran out onto the pitch where their heroes play made us as coaches very proud.'

Each team got a 30-minute match each and were then presented with their end-of-season trophies.

Spixworth Youth FC runs teams for boys and girls – starting at under-six through to under-16 – and are always looking to recruit new players.

At the moment they are looking for U16 girls, U15 boys and U8 for both girls and boys.

Training takes place at Woodland View Junior School, Ivy Road, Spixworth, on Saturdays from 10am to noon.
