Norwich firms compete in the name of charity
A chartered accountants is celebrating after beating more than 11 other professional firms in a gruelling sporting challenge for charity.
Lovewell Blake won the second annual Arnolds Sports Challenge as Norwich-based solicitors, bankers, architects and property consultants went head-to-head in aid of local charity Nelson's Journey.
The seven month contest saw the teams do battle in netball, tag rugby, canoeing, pool, rounders, darts, a city adventure race, 10-pin bowling and a quiz finale.
In all, the competing firms were able to raise 2,400 for Nelson's Journey, a charity that helps bereaved children in Norfolk.
Nelson's Journey is the charity of the year for chartered surveyors Arnold's.
The firm's sporting challenge co-ordinator, Craig Knights, said that the series of events had helped forge friendships as well as business relationships among 12 of the city's leading professional firms.
He said: 'Networking is such an important part of business nowadays, so we decided that we should try and inject some fun into the process – as well as the opportunity to indulge in a little exercise, at the same time as raising money for a local good cause.
