Norwich Fashion Week unveiled the modelling team that will be gracing the catwalks in September.

Norwich Fashion Week revealed the winners of the fashion week modelling team competition after a gruelling final at independent fashion shop Vanilla on Ipswich Road.

The winners, 12 female and seven male, were chosen from 30 finalists all wanting to pose on the catwalks at Norwich Fashion Week this September.

Auditions were held throughout June where wannabe models were interviewed and had to perform in front of a judging panel. The judges included Louise Lace and Anita Taubman from Vanilla, Jayne Raffles from The Library Restaurant, Bex Parramint from Powermodel Management and Mandy Dunham from The Gallery Haircutters.

Says Ms Lace: 'The competition was fierce and it was difficult to decide who we wanted in the Norwich Fashion Week team as all the finalists were of a high standard. In the end we chose those that we believed would fit with the Norwich Fashion Week vision and who would look good together as a team.'

The winning team will model on the catwalks during Norwich Fashion Week where two models, one male and one female will win the overall prize as the face of Norwich Fashion Week, winning a modelling contract with Powermodel Management and a fashion shoot on the Life Matters pages in your Norwich Evening News.

Danielle Hull from North Norfolk is one of the girls who made it to the team: 'I'm so happy to have been picked for the Norwich Fashion Week modelling team,' says the 19 year old. 'Everyone in the finals was so beautiful that I didn't think that I would make it.'

Luke Baverstock, 17, from Norwich, also made the cut: 'I cannot stop shaking. Modelling is something that I have always wanted to do, but apart from a few modelling parts at college I haven't done anything like this before.'

Matt Fleming, 16, from Coltishall, who also made it to the Norwich Fashion Week modelling team was also delighted: 'The competition was very tight and so I was surprised that I made it to the team. Now I cannot wait until Norwich Fashion Week.'

The modelling team will be showcasing autumn and winter fashion at Norwich Fashion Week which takes place from September 22 until September 29. Retailers and designers tipped to showcase at the week long event include Vanilla and Jarrolds, as well as designers such as Vanessa Lewis and Jo Couldrey.
