Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) have marked Carers' Rights Day by inviting dementia carers to their group support programme.

Carers' Rights Day's annual objective is to ensure carers are aware of their rights and know how to obtain the support they are legally entitled to.

The NSFT has taken the opportunity to invite carers of people who with dementia to attend their 11 week programme of group support sessions, which cover everything from different types of dementia to the role of social services.

Susy Robson of NSFT said: 'We like to ensure that carers know about all of the help and support which is available at the earliest opportunity as it helps take away some of the stress they may be experiencing following a diagnosis.'

The sessions take place at the Julian Hospital in Bowthorpe Road, Norwich. For more information, email susan.robson@nsft.nhs.uk.
