A medical loan service coordinator from Norwich has returned home following a charity placement in Romania to help blind and deaf people.
Kathy Smithers, 49, of Nursery Close, embarked on a two-week placement to the European county to work as a volunteer for the British-Romanian charity, Light into Europe, based in Bucharest.
This is the second time the British Red Cross worker has donated her time to the charity. This time she helped to distribute blankets donated by Peter Taylor Funeral Homes on Boundary Road.

Ms Smithers said: 'I handed over a blanket to a lady called Aurelia. She is 44 years old and her guide dog is called Angus. Aurelia has been completely blind since birth.'
Light into Europe trains guide dogs and the person using them.
