People in Norwich can do their bit to help stricken victims of the Haiti earthquake at a string of events in and around the city.

Half of the proceeds made at an Elvis tribute night on Friday, January 29 will go towards the Haiti appeal.

The event, starring Norwich-based Elvis impersonator Barry Wilson, will be held at the Holiday Inn hotel, near the Norwich International Airport, from 7pm.

Tickets cost £10 and can be bought online at www.gary-winter.com or from Cookes Music Shop, St Benedicts, Norwich.

t Roundwood Indoor Bowls Club will hold a fundraising coffee morning on Friday, January 29 from 9am to 12 noon for the Haiti Earthquake Appeal. The event is at the bowls club, Ringland Road, Taverham. Free entry and car parking.

t A Norwich salsa night is being held to raise money to help the Haitian relief effort.

Club Salsa's Salsa for Haiti event will be from 8pm to 1am on Saturday, January 30, at Keir Hardie Hall, in St Gregory's Alley.

All the proceeds on the night will go towards helping the victims of the Haiti earthquake disaster.

Entry costs £6 or £5 for NUS card holders, and doors open at 7.45pm, with classes for beginners at 8pm, and improvers at 8.45pm.

t A variety event will be held at St Andrew's Hall on Saturday, February 6 from early afternoon to 8pm. The organiser is looking for performers to take part. Buskers, jugglers, comedians, poets, story-tellers and dancers who are interested in taking part in the event should email starbrick@live.co.uk
