An East Anglian accountancy firm looks set to bolster its workforce after it capped off a year of acquisition deals by moving into new headquarters.

Aston Shaw said it would look to take on another 20 staff within the next two years after announcing plans to move from its base on Thorpe Road, Norwich, to the Union Building on Rose Lane.

It comes after the organisation, which employs 90 people across five offices, snapped up sole trader Richard Harris Ltd and rival accountancy firm Roger Hopkins, on top of last year's merger with Morgan Woods.

Director Dominic Shaw said: 'Our growth in the last five years has been phenomenal and our new head office is something to show for all the hard work.

'The move will give us more visibility, make us more efficient as a business and enable us to provide an even better service to our clients.

'We will now look to build on our success in Norwich and translate that to our offices across the region.'

The firm, which has been based on Thorpe Road for more than 40 years, said the new offices will have better meeting spaces, digital screens to display real-time accounting statistics and a larger waiting area.

Aston Shaw rubber-stamped a deal to snap up Norwich-based Roger Hopkins Chartered Accountants in May, taking over its six staff and offices on Princes Street.

It followed a merger with Morgan Woods in August 2014, which saw the organisation expand to 70 staff across five offices in Norwich, Ipswich, Cambridge, Dereham and Great Yarmouth.
