A Norfolk turkey farmer has brought joy to the homeless and needy in Norwich by providing the centrepiece for a free Christmas dinner.

James Graham, who runs Peele's Norfolk Black Turkeys at Thuxton, near Dereham, donated a 6.7kg bird to the Anon Street Team for its festive spread at the Haymarket on Sunday evening.

The volunteers have been helping the homeless in Norwich since 2013 and regularly feed up to 70 people on a Sunday with food that has either been donated or bought and cooked by themselves. They also take out supplies such as toiletries, clothes and sleeping bags to those sleeping rough.

Volunteer Nicila Collier collected the turkey from Mr Graham and partner Claire Sims on Saturday.

Around 50 people ate a Christmas meal at the Haymarket and a further 10 were fed on the streets.
