Volunteers interested in the chance to drive a steam engine train are invited to take part in Bure Valley Railway's Volunteers Open Day next weekend.
The railway is Norfolk's longest narrow gauge steam railway, operating over the nine miles between Aylsham and Wroxham, carrying over 120,000 passengers each year. It is owned by a small group of enthusiasts that operate entirely on a not-for-profit basis.
On Sunday March 6 Bure Valley Railway are offering the opportunity to meet existing staff and volunteers and see behind the scenes, including a chance to drive one of the steam engines, from 10am onwards.
Andrew Tunwell, general manager, said: 'Volunteering for the Bure Valley Railway is a great way to get involved with the local community, make new friends and learn new skills.
'Whatever your age, whether you are male or female, if you have a couple of hours to spare or can make a more regular commitment, we would welcome your help.'
