Jeff and Karen Nethercott own two stores called Samphire, one off Market Street, Wymondham, and the other at Blicking Hall, near Aylsham, which sell locally-sourced products and rare breed meats reared to high welfare standards.
Their ethical purchasing has won them praise at the pig and poultry marketing awards held in London on Thursday where they beat national competition to come away with the title of best meat buyer and were highly commended in the taste of excellence category for their pork pies and onion marmalade.
Mrs Nethercott, said: 'We were so surprised. It was lovely to go up once but to be called a second time was a shock.'
