One athlete enjoying a well-earned rest following Sunday's Virgin London Marathon is Horsham St Faith mum-of-two Mandy Foyster.

The end of her Marathon completed a complete trip of 168 miles after setting off from the north Norwich village on Monday.

A total 32 hours and 142 miles over five days to Westminster Bridge in central London on Friday, then saw Mrs Foyster complete the Marathon in 5.15 hours, as she tried to raise �2,000 for her village's primary school and the RNLI.

She said after the race: 'It was an incredible week with lots of adventures including getting lost over meadows and footpaths in Essex on the Thursday!

'I'm very tired and very happy to have achieved my dream of running to London and then running the Marathon.'

Wayne Easlea, 37, from the Constitution Hill area of Norwich, ran in aid of NSPCC's Childline service, completing his first London marathon in 3.33 hours, and said: 'The hardest miles were 16-17, but the support and atmosphere was amazing.'

Great Yarmouth's Victor Ling, 37, raised �1,100 for Red Balloon Norwich Learner Centre with a time of 5.29 hours, but is hoping the total will rise to closer to �1,500.

He said: 'It was my first marathon, and my last! The most I had done before the race was six miles so it was a massive step up, but it was the most amazing experience.'

While Tony Shipley, 35, from Woodton, near Bungay, ran in aid of the British Heart Foundation in memory of his dad Phil who died 21 months ago. He completed the race in 3.59 hours and raised over �2500.
