A Norwich MP is urging the city's motorists to take part in the car scrappage scheme - before the funding for the initiative runs out.
Norwich South MP Charles Clarke said more than three quarters of the budget for the scheme has been used up, which means funding is available for fewer than 82,000 new vehicles.
He said: 'Time is running out for you to get a great deal on a new car by trading in your old one. If you have been thinking about taking advantage of the scrappage scheme then now is the time.
'Labour's car scrappage scheme has kept our car industry going during these tough times and offered great value for motorists. It shows how the Labour Government is investing through difficult times to give real help to people and protect jobs and businesses.'
