A Norwich woman whose epileptic labrador went missing has been given an early Christmas present and has been reunited with her dog.

Angela Buck, 63, of Hooker Road, Heartsease, was walking her dog Poppy on Tuesday, December 13 at Mousehold when she went missing.

Poppy, who is epileptic and needs medication four times a day, was found safe and well on Wednesday, December 21 on Hill Crest Road, off Gordon Avenue in Thorpe.

Mrs Buck said: 'When we found her she was very clean but very thin. She had been looking after herself and she still had her collar on.'

After an appeal in the Evening News, Mrs Buck received a number of phone calls from members of the public who had spotted Poppy in Norwich.

Mrs Buck had offered a 50 reward which she has donated to the charity Dog Lost, which helps reunite owners with their lost pets.

She said: 'I took her to see the vet on Wednesday afternoon. Poppy seems fine and has not had a fit since she came home. We are considering cutting her medication down since she seems so well. All my Christmases have come at once.

'I would like to say thank you so much to everybody who has helped me, it has been heart warming. I am so grateful, I can't possibly thank everybody enough.

'My friend Nick Johnson and his dog Osbert helped to look for Poppy and my friend Bridget Sayer kept my spirits up.'
