The father of one who has spent years working across Norfolk's farms and fields is hoping to make his mark on the music industry in 2018.

Following the release of his latest single Cards On The Table, the 33-year-old builder turned singer from Norwich, is looking ahead to bigger things.

Influenced by the likes of Rag'n'Bone Man and Bob Dylan, Mr Malachowski first picked up a guitar seven years ago and kicked off his music career by playing in pubs and bars across Norwich.

New Black Records, an independent record label, discovered him in 2017 and quickly signed him to their business.

The company also represents Norwich band New Scientists and two-piece The Big Alabama from Diss.

Since being signed, the blues/folk singer has gone on to be featured as one to watch by NME magazine and had his music picked up by BBC Introducing.

Speaking about his recent success, Mr Malachowski said: 'I've gone from playing in bars for like two people, to performing headline shows at the Norwich Arts Centre and Epic Studios, which is just amazing - I still can't believe people are actually paying money to come see me play music.

'What I love most about it, is that for a little bit of time I can make them forget about their troubles and make them happy, it means I'm doing my job right.'

He added: 'My goal is to keep playing music for as long as I can, putting out albums and playing festivals and shows all over the UK.'

Daniel Farrow of New Black Records, commented: 'I have never ,in all my years working in music, heard a more authentic and raw talent that is drawn from the very roots of music.

'I became a fan of Tom in the very first few seconds of hearing his incredible sound and I am genuinely excited to see where he is going!'

Tom Malachowski's new album is due to be released in September 2018.
