The smell of pine will be in the air around Norwich city centre from this morning, as a trail of real Christmas trees is officially launched.
Local schools, artists and community groups have decorated the 31 trees, which have been set up in shops, arts venues and other prominent locations.
A total of 22 city primary schools have taken part in the project, as well as artists Saffron Paffron and Pat Howe, and charity Nansa, which helps Norfolk people who have disabilities, and Baseline, Future, which provides practical, social and emotional support, guidance and training for anyone aged 16 and over.

The trail will run until December 30, and people who collect 15 stamps from tree sites on a copy of the trail map can enter a draw for prizes including lunch for two at the Library Restaurant, family season ticket to Dinosaur Adventure, or gift vouchers.
Stefan Gurney, executive director of Norwich BID, said: “We encourage everyone to come along with family and friends and really get into the festive spirt. The trail takes in many great sites around the city and showcases some fantastic creative talent from local school children.
“We would like to thank all the schools, artists and community groups for their enthusiasm and creative spirit for producing these fabulous 12 days of Christmas-themed decorations. Head out and explore the city this Christmas and good luck to everyone taking part in the trail.”
Trail maps can be downloaded from www.norwichristmas.co.uk, or found in copies of the Norwichristmas magazine, available from the Tourist Information Centre in the Forum or from the tree locations.
