A man stuck up a drainpipe near Wensum Park in north Norwich yesterday was trying to rescue a cat, it has emerged.
As reported, a fire crew from Sprowston was called to St Martin's Close at about 4.20pm, to reports that a man was stuck up a drainpipe.
A spokesman for Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said: 'One crew from Sprowston attended reports of a person stuck up a drainpipe. It's believed they were attempting to rescue a cat.'
The person was already rescued by the time the crew arrived.
