How can you look stylish when you are over 60 without dressing too young for your age? It's the question that many of you have asked the Life Matters makeover team. To show you how you can still wear current trends whatever your age, EMMA HARROWING takes reader Vivienne Nichol on her very own makeover journey.
'I am 65 years old and I have always wanted a makeover but I've never had to courage to apply,' says Vivienne Nichol from Nelson Street.
'There are a lot of aspects to my look that I need help with; the main thing is my hair. I always used to dye my hair dark but have recently let it go grey. I have suffered from Psoriasis since I was 12 years old, which is on my scalp and putting medication on my hair has left it hard to manage.

'I am also a size 20 and I live in T. shirts, jumpers and trousers. I long to have manageable hair and a smart new look that doesn't make me look bigger or older than I am.'
Vivienne is facing the same problem that many women of a certain age have. Can you wear the latest fashions without looking like you are wearing clothes to young for you? The answer, of course, is yes.

Regardless of how old you are you can dip into any fashion trend; the key to stop yourself looking like you are wearing clothes only suitable for a teenager is to only wear items that suit your body shape. Accentuate the parts of your body you like and you will instantly draw attention away from the parts you don't like. This, my friend, is the way to ooze style.
Vivienne longs to look stylish. She sighs as she recalls seeing women the same age or even older than her in the city wearing the latest fashions and looking great. It's time to give her look a revamp.
Vivienne wears: Top, 25, Principles; trousers, 35, Principles; necklace, 10, Wallis; bracelet, 10, Wallis; bag, 55, Jasper Conran; pumps, 12, Red Herring. All are available at Debenhams.
Hair: Cut and colour by Sinead at Saks on Orford Hill.
Makeup: Michaela from the Dior.
