Norfolk's so-called Lotto Lout has re-applied for his old job as a dustman.
Binman Michael Carroll was 19 when he won 9.7m with his first-ever ticket.
He hit the headlines when he went to collect his winnings wearing an electronic offender's tag, before an eight-year splurge in which he blew the lot on drugs, women and gambling.
Yesterday a friend confirmed Mr Carroll, who lives on an estate in Downham Market, was looking for work.
'He's quite happy to go back to work now all the money's gone,' he said. 'He just wants to get back to living a normal life, part of that's having a job.'
Mr Carroll hit the headlines after he held banger races in the garden of the 350,000 country house near Swaffham he bought with part of his jackpot. He made a string of court appearances, culminating in jail terms for drugs and affray.
