The people of Norfolk rallied to show their support for Deryn Blackwell as he entered the most crucial point in his three-year battle with cancer.

As the teenager from Watton was poised for the latest stage in his battle against leukaemia, dozens of people responded to an appeal on the @edp24 Twitter account to tweet words and pictures to show they were thinking of the 13-year-old.

A former trainee accountant from Watton was found guilty of failing to stop after a collision and failing to report an accident after posting on Twitter.

Emma Way, 22, alerted police to her crime in May after tweeting: 'definitely knocked a cyclist off his bike earlier. I have right of way – he doesn't even pay road tax!' using the hashtag #bloodycyclists afterwards.

She later described the post as her 'biggest regret'.

The story of the Norfolk micro brewery which was told it must change its name or face legal action, because it sounds too similar to the energy drink Red Bull, drew huge support on social media.

Huge numbers voiced their support for Redwell on Twitter after the story broke in August.

Days later the makers of the energy drink announced they would not proceed with a legal challenge against the Redwell brewery.

The decision to remove Freddie 'Radio Go Go Gorilla' from his plinth outside of The Forum in Norwich caused a Twitter storm with social media users branding it 'outrageous and petty'.

Organisers of GoGoGorillas! – a fundraising art trail – were contacted by Mercury Phoenix Trust, an Aids charity set up in memory of the iconic Queen lead singer, who died in 1991.

The world premiere of the new Alan Partridge film Alpha Papa was held in Norwich after a Twitter campaign.

Comedian Steve Coogan appeared in character, pictured, before hundreds of fans at the red carpet event in Anglia Square following the Twitter campaign dubbed 'Anglia Square Not Leicester Square' which called for it to be hosted in the city.
