A city councillor has written to Chancellor George Osborne urging him to cut income tax for people on middle and low incomes in next week's budget.
James Wright is part of a group of Liberal Democrats from across the country who are asking for people not to have to pay income tax on the first 10,000 they earn.
The Liberal Democrat group leader at Norwich City Council said: 'Full-time resident Norwich workers have the lowest average income in the region so the issue is particularly relevant to the city. Every day I meet residents in work but still struggling to make ends meet.'
