Norwich-based Crystal Bats took the crowd at Open back to the 1980s with their sophisticated brand of pop.
With sparkling silver shoes, floral shirts and a pendant earring the venue had a camp nightclub ambience.
The duo – a five-piece for the live show – evoked Hall & Oates and Prince, with harmonic guitar and soft vocals.
It was the third outing for Will Jones and Will Vaughan, who formed the project in 2011 and released debut record Stranger this year.
Tickets were sold out for the evening, and judging by the warm reception they received Crystal Bats can expect to play to much larger crowds in the future. 8/10
