Hunstanton's lifeboat crew were called out for the first time this year after a kite surfer believed to be from the Norwich area got into trouble off the Norfolk coast yesterday.
The crew was called at around 3.30pm after the alarm was raised. A spokesman for Hunstanton Lifeboat said: 'One of his lines was wrapped around his leg and he was unable to control the kite.'
The man had been in the water for half and hour, but did not need medical assistance after the rescue.
The spokesman added: 'It was just one of those unfortunate things that happen to them. Normally there are several of them and they help each other out. It was lucky somebody spotted him.'
