A leading activist for the reform of tax systems to close loopholes for tax evasion is to visit Norwich to outline his ideas on the Green New Deal.

Richard Murphy, a director of Tax Research UK and professor in International Political Economy at City University London, will appear at a Norwich Green Party meeting on Wednesday.

He will give a speech discussing the Green New Deal.

'The deal will create jobs in every community building the sustainable future we all need. It will ensure people get from the government those core services that will really make a long term difference to all our lives,' he said.

'And it's about preserving our planet for future generations. It is about taking our economy back to basics and making sure it works for everyone.'

The meeting will take place at the Belvedere Community Centre on Belvoir Street on Wednesday, February 22 between 7-9pm.
