Dance and laugh the night away at Little Melton...with Wypeout, Ian Larkin and Big Tim Lane

Many years ago, drummer Keith Lebbell had a dream following the death of his friend Doug Copeland from leukaemia.

He wanted to put on a show to raise money to help others – and remember his friend, a director of Smith & Pinching, who loved racing cars.

'He was a superstar and I wanted to do something in his memory,' said Keith.

So Keith, a drummer for more than 35 years, gathered some friends together and they put on a show which went down a storm.

With support and inspiration from his parents, Keith has been putting on a string of cabaret nights since then and has raised almost 20,000 for a collection of charities and good causes.

He had hit on a winning formula by combining classic 50s and 60s music with traditional Norfolk humour.

And the show coming up looks like being another cracker.

The latest cabaret night organised by Keith is at Little Melton Village Hall on Saturday, October 20 and there are only a handful of 8 tickets left. Money raised this time goes to the Priscilla Bacon Centre in Norwich and the Ipswich Epilepsy Support Group.

The music is served up by a great group which Keith formed with former Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band member Dave Clague three years ago called Wypeout.

Other members of the band today are singer Daz Lewis, ex-Memphis Index man Lou Morant and the much loved Mick Betts –one of the great Norwich musicians who has played with so many bands over the years.

Put that lot together and you are in for a real treat.

Also on the stage will be all-round entertainer and cheekie chappie Ian Larkin and comedian Big Tim Lane.

And Keith has also organised a fireworks display by Profection.

'It is going to be a really good night out and I am hoping to see lots of old and new friends,' said Keith, who is also a drum teacher.
