Hard work has led to "significant improvements" at a Norfolk infants school, Ofsted said in a positive report.

Hard work has led to “significant improvements” at a Norfolk infants school, Ofsted said in a positive report.

Aylsham St Michael's Infant and Nursery School on School House Lane was given a “good” overall rating by inspectors who visited on March 24 and 25.

The 144-pupil school, led by headteacher Anne Jewers, was praised for its efforts since the last inspection in 2006.

Inspectors said: “The school has worked hard since the last inspection and has made significant improvements to many aspects of its work.

“Parents are clearly very happy with the school's work and as one said: 'I just wish I could keep my child in the school until 11 years old'.

“Pupils' good progress is due to good teaching and the excellent links between the school, parents and carers, and other outside agencies and organisations.”

The report also praised “excellent behaviour and good attendance”, outstanding leadership and management illustrated by “the continuous striving for improvement”, and pupils' “outstanding contribution to the school and local community”.
