When a reasonable person of good will looks at all the changes taking place in the city we must wish all the best to the traffic planners and councillors on the Joint County and City Committee.

However, there has never been any change that does not have unforeseen consequences and in particular the routing of much traffic onto Ber Street, Finkelgate and Queens' Road.

These consequences come from a channelling of traffic from commercial shopping areas into areas where people actually live.

What are the effects on quality of life there?

The new rat runs that are also created by change also need to be evaluated and possible speed limits looked at as well as aspects of possible pollution and its effects.

Norwich deserves to expect that the changes will make the city be a better place to live, work, shop and play.

These things need monitoring and reviewing.
