A weekly fair which has been part of Norwich's landscape for nearly 40 years is being relaunched tonight.

Helen Leith, 52, who lives south of the city, took over the long-established Cloisters Fair earlier this year.

The fair, held every Wednesday in St Andrew's Hall, is an Aladdin's cave of antiques, collectables and vintage goods.

Since taking over, Ms Leith, whose background is in art and antiques, has scrapped the entry fee, introduced a small cafe on fair days and made access easier by opening up the Elm Hill entrance, making a total of three entrances.

'It's a very important part of the business landscape of the city and it's really growing,' said Ms Leith.

'There's such an interesting variety of stalls and there's something there for everybody.'

The fair has a wide variety of expert stallholders, some of whom have been with the fair up to 30 years, selling books, coins, ceramics, clocks, dolls, furniture, games, glass, jewellery, lace and linens and more.

Ms Leith has also taken over The Original Fleamarket which has been staged in St Andrew's Halls for the last 36 years.

The next fleamarket will be on Saturday, November 26.

The big Christmas Nostalgia Fair will be held on Sunday, December 4 as part of Norwichristmas.
