A nurse researcher from the University of East Anglia (UEA) has been awarded a prestigious Dawkins and Strutt grant, part of the British Medical Association Foundation for Medical Research Awards, for research focused on older people with more than one health condition.
This award highlights the research Dr Jackie Buck from UEA and Dr Jane Fleming from The University of Cambridge are undertaking.
The grant will help their research into the extent and range of multiple health conditions in older people and associations with health service use, medication, care, social support and lifestyle factors. It is thought to be one of the biggest challenges facing today's NHS.
Dr Buck said 'We're thrilled that this important work is being recognised and supported through these awards.
'The grant will help our health and care services better plan how best to treat an ageing population.'
