A Norfolk hospital has received an art boost following the donation of a decorated life size gorilla.

A father has donated a GoGoGorilla to the Jenny Lind Children’s Department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital as a gesture of appreciation for the treatment his son has received.

Isaac Betts, aged 7, has been a patient of Nandu Thalange, consultant paediatrician since birth and his father Liam decided to bid for the Catch Me While You Can gorilla during the recent auction at the Norwich Forum, with the specific intention to donate it to NNUH.

The managing director said: “Following the huge success of the GoGoGorillas campaign and my company taking the opportunity to sponsor Catch Me While You Can it seemed the perfect way to recognise this by paying such a fitting tribute to all the good work that Dr Nandu Thalange has done for many families including mine. Emma Dolman, matron for children’s services said:“We are very grateful to Liam and Gasway for donating the Catch Me While You Can gorilla to us – it will be such a lovely welcome for our patients when visit the Jenny Lind Children’s Department.”
