A charity which helps unpaid carers has been given a £4,000 grant as part of an awards scheme.
The national Masonic Charitable Foundation granted the Norfolk Millennium Trust for Carers the sum as part of their community awards.
It came as part of the Freemasonry’s 300th anniversary celebrations, which saw it give out £3m to 300 charities across the country.
The carers trust, which was set up through this newspaper’s We Care Appeal, was one of six Norfolk charities to be given an award.
The charity said it would help with the increasing number of requests from unpaid carers to provide power packs for loved ones’ wheelchairs.
Paddy Seligman, chairman of the trust, said: “We are extremely grateful for this very generous grant.
“When funds are available we can provide a power pack to make it easier for a frail carer to push a loved one in their wheelchair.”
