The Norwich team spent their Monday evening painting at The Hamlet Charity in Norwich as part of their group runs.

They meet every Monday at the Forum, drop off their bags and run to a Norwich community organisation.

The group will dig, lift, scrape, clear and paint for a good cause and then push themselves on the run back with some intervals or a fitness session. Once they arrive back at The Forum, they stretch and celebrate what they have achieved. All in the space of 90 minutes.

Steven Hitcham, trainer for GoodGym Norwich, said: 'Our visit to The Hamlet was one of our weekly group runs where more than 20 volunteer runners do good in their community. The Hamlet are the type of organisation we love to help as they have limited resources and when a job like painting a communal room needs doing, we are the perfect ones to do it in a short space of time.

'In Norwich we've visited over 25 different community organisations since we launched in June last year. Some of the tasks we do include gardening, weeding, painting and decorating, litter picks, general tidying, moving furniture and heavy objects, leaflet jobs and many more.'

Claire Nicholls, of The Hamlet Charity, said: 'The GoodGym Norwich is a fantastic scheme and has supported The Hamlet Charity twice now at our head office on St Leonards Road. They have painted our training room with two coats and it has made a real difference to our head office facilities.

I take my hat off to these crazy runners who had just come straight up Gas Hill and were raring to go on the painting, window cleaning, dusting and general office take over.'

The Hamlet supports Norfolk children and adults with disabilities and complex health needs. They work with families to overcome the daily barriers that they face so that they can no longer feel alone on their journey.
