Pedal power will be used to raise money for a charity which supports children and adults with disabilities and complex health needs.

Friends Carl Wigglesworth, 37, from Norwich, and Russell Grant, 36, from Ipswich, will tackle this year's Ride London 100 cycling challenge for The Hamlet charity in Norwich.

The charity, which has three bases in the city, has provided recreational, educational and social opportunities for adults and children since 1972.

One of its services is the Out of Hours club which allows the people it supports to take part in a social activities from sports to cooking.

One of the club members is Mr Wigglesworth's stepdaughter.

The Archant employee and his friend hope to raise £1,000 for The Hamlet by completing the 100-mile challenge on July 28 and 29.

Mr Wigglesworth said: 'It's a local place and we know they do a really good job.'
