More weather warnings have been issued for snow and ice across Norfolk and Suffolk as the big freeze continues.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow for the east of England, including Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire for the rest of the day.

It warns 'some rural communities could become or remain cut off' and of further disruption to travel.

The warning continues into Friday when there are then further concerns over icy stretches on untreated roads.

And then on Saturday morning the Met Office has issued a yellow warning for ice in the east of England.

It states: 'Following earlier spells of rain and snow, icy patches are likely to form on untreated surfaces during Saturday morning. As a result, diving conditions may become difficult and there is an increased chance of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.'

Last night the coldest temperature recorded in the county was minus six degrees Celsius at Houghton Hall in north Norfolk meanwhile along the coast it was minus 5.2 degrees Celsius at Weybourne.

Today temperatures could feel as low as minus 13 degrees Celsius at Tibenham and as low as minus 12 degrees Celsius at Marham when people were exposed to the wind.

He said the wind would also be gusting to up to 30 to 35mph inland and 40 to 45mph along the coast.
