Norwich-based five-a-side team Real Foxes' dream Wembley visit failed to produce a fairytale finish but they are determined to return to the national stadium next year.

The Foxes, representing the region as 28 teams did battle for the FA's Umbro Fives title at Wembley on Saturday, had a 1-1 draw, a 4-1 win and 2-0 and 2-1 defeats from their four matches and failed to progress to the knockout stages.

But skipper Matty Walker said the experience had merely whetted the players' appetite. 'It was a learning curve for us. We would like to get back next year and hopefully do a lot better. Overall it was a great day and a memorable experience.' The tournament, originally entered by 1200 teams, was won by 2007 champions MDU of Orpington who beat Midlands outfit Top Draw 4-2 after extra time in the final. Their displays highlighted the high standard necessary for success and Foxes, a group of friends who have been playing together for over five years, have taken note. 'The bar has been raised,' said Matty. Meanwhile the Foxes comprising Matty, Lee Maison, Jason Armes, Leon Brock, Tommy Dickerson, Tom Balls and Danny Pennell will return to action aiming to build on an awesome record of local and regional success.
