A former Norwich City footballer's daughter has been found dead at her home.

A former Norwich City footballer's daughter has been found dead at her home.

Sibylle Sibierski, daughter of Antoine, who was on loan at Norwich last season, was found hanged by police last night.

Police officers broke into the 18-year-old's rented apartment after concerns for her safety were raised.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: “At about 5.40pm on Monday, February 1, police were called to Denmark Street, Altrincham, following reports of concerns over the welfare of a woman.

“Officers attended, forced entry and the body of an 18-year-old woman was discovered.

“The case has been passed to the coroner.”

Her father retired from football last year and is now thought to be a football agent.

He moved to Manchester City from Lens in 2003 and made 92 league appearances before he went on to play for Newcastle United and Wigan Athletic.

He joined the Canaries on loan in September 2008 and scored twice in 16 games. His stay at Carrow Road ended last January after he suffered a twisted ankle, sidelining him for the rest of his loan spell.
